Detecting a Natural Gas Leak
There are 3 ways to recognize if you have a gas leak:
- Smell — rotten eggs or sulphur
- Look — dead or discolored vegetation or constant bubbling in puddles
- Listen — hissing, roaring, or high-pitched sounds
What to Do
- Leave the area immediately and evacuate others
- Call 911 and Ashland Natural Gas at (208) 736-2299 from a safe distance
- Do not use any electrical equipment such as cell phones, appliances, or even doorbells
